Anqing in Poetry
On the afternoon of April 3rd, Professor Meng Man entered the grand auditorium of Anqing Government Center and shared her insights on the theme of 'Anqing in Poetry'. With her profound cultural background and unique narrative style, she led the audience to explore the splendid chapters of Anqing in the long river of Chinese poetry. From the ancient poems and lyrics, everyone experienced the beauty of the landscape and the unique cultural charm of Anqing as if they had traveled through time and space, standing in the ancient city of Anqing, where the poems and lyrics were once so splendid.
First and foremost, the students of Grade Ten of our school were fortunate enough to attend this lecture, during which they were fully concentrated and deeply attracted by Meng Man's vivid explanations. When Mengman talked about the interweaving of poetry and history in Anqing, students' eyes shone with curiosity and eagerness to learn, as if a door to ancient Anqing had been opened.
Moreover, the moment she began to speak, Meng Man immediately captured the attention of every student present. With her kind and highly infectious tone, she expounded on the rich contents such as historical stories and cultural connotations in a flowing and gentle manner, like a continuous stream of water. From the rise and fall of ancient dynasties, to the little-known yet fascinating historical details, and then to the analysis of the historical roots behind many current social phenomena, every word she uttered seemed to possess magical power, immersing students in it.
Furthermore, the interactive session was indeed the climax of the entire event in that the tenth grade students of our school were all full of enthusiasm, whose hands were all raised high, forming a scene like a small forest of eagerness for knowledge. Meanwhile, everyone was eager to have a face-to-face communication with Professor Meng Man and put forward their doubts and questions regarding history, poetry and growth.
Additionally, towards the end of the lecture, an exceptionally touching scene unfolded where two students from Anqing Foreign Language held the beautiful flowers in their hands and, with the deep respect and gratitude of all the classmates, slowly walked up to the podium and presented the flowers to Meng Man. At that moment, her face was filled with an amiable smile. The flowers complemented her charm, as if they had captured the most beautiful moment in this meaningful lecture.
In summary, not only was this lecture an unforgettable experience for the Senior One students of our school, but also was a precious asset on their path of growth. Therefore, inspired by Meng Man, it’s believed that they will carry this passion and pursuit for knowledge with them, keeping forging ahead on the path of seeking knowledge, exploring a more splendid world, and writing their own magnificent chapters.
